What does it mean to you to be Black in Denver?

To me, being Black in Denver means always being aware that I stand out and using it to my advantage. I feel that as long as you’re prepared and motivated, you can achieve anything. Being Black in Denver has allowed me to meet other creatives, movers, and shakers at events like Denver Startup Week. These people have not only inspired me but have been a great help to my career and growth.

What do you love most about living in Denver?

I love all the change going on. At first, it was scary, but I’m excited about the new opportunities and unity among creatives in Denver.

How have your experiences in Denver shaped you?

My personal experiences have motivated me to be successful. My mom has been sick since I was 14, and despite that, she has always made things happen and kept a smile. So in my daily business and work, I strive to over-deliver and also not be afraid to ask for help. I’m a self-starter with a lot of things I do, and being a people person has helped me meet a lot of fellow creatives along my journey.
